Binutils supports 2 linkers, ld.gold and ld.bfd.
One of them is configured as the default linker, ld, which is used by GCC.
Sometimes, we want to use the alternate linker with GCC at run-time.
This command -fuse-ld=bfd and -fuse-ld=gold can help to to change between ld.bfd or ld.gold.
Gold linker 的介绍:
gold is a linker for ELF files. It became an official GNU package and was added tobinutils on March, 2008 and first released in binutils version 2.19. Gold was developed by Ian Lance Taylor and a small team at Google. The motivation for writing gold was to make a linker that is faster than theGNU linker, especially for largeapplications coded in C++.
bfd linker的介绍:
The linker accesses object and archive files using the BFD libraries. These libraries allow the linker to use the same routines to operate on object files whatever the object file format.
