keep feeding him nickels
  a mother saw her three-year-old son put a nickel in his mouth and swallowed it.
  she immediately picked him up, turned him upside down and hit him on the back, whereupon he coughed up two dimes. frantically, she called to the father outside.
  “your son just swallowed a nickel and coughed up tow dimes! what shall i do?”
  yelled back the father, “keep feeding him nickels!”

继续喂他五分钱
  一位母亲看见她三岁的儿子放了一枚五分硬币到嘴里并且吞下去了。她立即把他提了起来，使他脚朝上，头朝下，并轻轻拍打他的背，这时小孩咳出两枚一角的硬币。她一下子傻眼了，对着屋外孩子他爸喊道：
    “儿子吞了一枚五分的钱，咳出两枚一角的钱！怎么办？”
  孩子他爸喊着回答：“继续喂他五分钱！”  
  两种不同文字，除了词汇不一样，词语的排列，句子的结构，思维的逻辑是不是基本相同？表达的幽默是不是完全相同？不管是英国人读了还是中国人读了都会发出会心的一笑。不过，英国人读的是英语，中国人读的是汉语。
