1.First, we should modify the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 as the following:
DEVICE=eth0
HWADDR=00:16:3E:53:01:01
ONBOOT=yes
NM_CONTROLLD=yes
BOOTPROTO=static
IPADDR=192.168.32.98
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
2.Second, we should modify the /etc/sysconfig/network:
NETWORKING=yes
HOSTNAME=***
GATEWAY=192.168.32.254
3. Third, we should modify the /etc/resolv.cfg
search ***.edu
nameserver 192.168.32.65
nameserver 192.135.126.3
The aboving configuration is sample which should be altered according to
your own condition.
After finishing the configuration, if you have root privilege and should restart
the network service using command:
service network restart
Sometimes we will encounter one problem, the content of resolv.cfg will be
overwrote, then we need stop network manager service.
service NetworkManager stop
This command also needs to be executed under root privilege. After this
service is stopped, then we shoud reconfigure resolv.cfg file and restart
network service.
