    1. kick off

    其实kick off源自于足球,就是开球,发球的意思。

    引申为“开始做某事”的意思

    kick-off meeting,kick-off party

Candidates kick off their campaigns with a speech.

Students kick-off the semester with a party!

    2.up someone's sleeve

    指某人的秘密

People dislike those who often have something up their sleeve.

The wife has something up her sleeve for his birthday party.

    3. sideline

    靠边;副业

John is a teacher but sidelines as a pianist in a band.

Many Americans have one or even two sideline occupations.

    4. what's up

This phrase is a casual expression and is normally used when you're talking to friends, family, or colleagues.
You would not want to use it in a formal or business situation.

"What's up?" is a greeting. It's a different way of saying "What's happening?"

hello, ask how things are going,

    how the person is feeling

    5. I'm a Jack-of-all-trades

A: So what do you do for a living?
B: I'm a handywoman. I fix and replace just about anything, from computers to showers drains.

    I guess you could say I'm a Jack-of-all-trades.

"Jack of all trades, master of none,"

it was used to describe people who learned how to do a lot of different things,

but, they weren't able to focus on doing one thing correctly.

    欢迎指正批评!!!
