Koders.com is a free service that allows anyone to search the largest index of Open Source Code on the Web. Koders Pro and Enterprise Editions, on the other hand, can operate inside a firewall and securely index proprietary source code assets. Koders Pro Edition is designed for individual developers or small development teams, and it uses a filesystem adapter to index code. Koders Enterprise Edition includes all the features and functionality of Koders Pro, and it can also index code in a number of version control systems.
How quickly can my team be up and running with Koders Enterprise Solutions?
Deploying and configuring Koders Pro and Enterprise Editions depends on the number of repositories, projects and the volume of source code to be indexed. For individual PCs, the process might take a few minutes. For a small/medium-sized organization the process can be as short as a few hours. In general, set-up and building an initial index takes no more than a couple of days even for the largest code repositories.
How is my code indexed?
Once a Koders Enterprise Solution is set up, the Koders KodeBot begins crawling projects within each code repository you have designated. The index is updated automatically when projects are modified.
Who will have access to the code indexed by Koders Pro or Koders Enterprise Edition?
You can administer the Koders Pro Edition and give access to people within your development organization. The Koders Enterprise Edition includes ACL-Level security features that will allow you to exclude specific users from searching certain repositories and/or projects according to your access control policy.

The Koders Pro and Enterprise Editions allow you to specify whether or not to include Open Source code in a search. Whereas some companies encourage the reuse of Open Source code, others may want to strictly exclude OS code from being searchable. Depending on your company's OS policy, you may switch OS code search on or off.
