Update PHP5.1.x to PHP 5.3.X on CentOS

Installing PHP 5.2.x or 5.3.x on RedHat ES5, CentOS 5, etc

To install PHP 5.2.5 (Highest in repository at this time) you can make use of a RPM repository maintained by Remi.

(1)下载
wget http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/epel/5/i386/epel-release-5-4.noarch.rpm
wget http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-5.rpm

(2)安裝
rpm -Uvh remi-release-5*.rpm epel-release-5*.rpm

ps. You now have the Remi repository on your system

(3)升级php到5.3.5
yum --enablerepo=remi update php

You should now have the latest PHP5 installed.

Also, If have a trouble while installing, you can try to execute folloing:

yum install mysql --enablerepo=remi
yum update php --enablerepo=remi

另：在最新版本的CentOS5.6上面，只需要运行

yum remove php*

然后再运行：

yum install php53*

即可以直接安装搞定。
